This year, WBG Connects has chosen to collect donations for Dignity Matters, the only New England based non-profit organization that supplies feminine hygiene products and underwear to women and school girls living in homeless or low-income situations to help them stay healthy, regain self-confidence, and live with basic dignity.
Dignity Matters is filling one of the cracks in the system that hardly anybody realizes exists – homeless and critically poor women and girls in Massachusetts DESPERATELY need tampons, pads, bras and panties.
There are almost 22,000 homeless women and school girls in Massachusetts alone. Every month, these women, often accompanied by their children, face the humiliating reality of no access to tampons or pads. Access to any underwear is a luxury.

Among the 10,000 homeless school girls in our state, the struggle with access to pads is real and it significantly increases school absenteeism. The dilemma of having to choose between buying food to survive, or purchasing tampons is common.
Your donations of bras, pads, tampons, and underwear help them stay healthy, boost school attendance, and live with basic dignity.
Just $40 allows Dignity Matters to supply 3 homeless women with pads/tampons for a full year. For many financially struggling women, something as simple as access to pads opens a possibility of looking for a job, keeping the job, staying at school, etc.
Dignity Matter delivers donated products, and fits women with bras, at homeless shelters, public schools and after-school programs in the Boston metro area, Cambridge, Lowell, and Cape Cod.
